How can Nansulate® HomeProtect help?
When insulating your home you want to create a barrier around the envelope - or 'shell' of your house. This includes exterior walls and either the attic, ceilings or roof. Basement walls and crawl spaces are also areas where heat can be lost or gained.
Nansulate® HomeProtect is easy to apply yourself and can be sprayed, brushed or rolled on in a variety of places. It can also be painted over with a color paint. Nansulate® will help to provide a thermal insulation barrier - a radiant barrier, as well as barrier the other forms of heat transfer (keeping heat in or out - depending on the season); and will also help with moisture control (controlling moisture passing through insulation and collecting in your home's structure). Only .50 cents per square foot for our recommended 3-coat application (each coat applied at 4 mils (100 microns) wet film thickness.
The illustration below shows some of the major areas in a home where heat loss happens. Heat always transfers to cold, so in the winter the heat inside is trying to get out, and in the summer, the heat outside is trying to get in. No matter which direction the heat transfer is going - Nansulate® helps to greatly reduce it, thus saving you money.
Nansulate® HomeProtect represents a new generation in efficient insulating materials. Because it is not dependent upon thickness (or trapping of air) to reduce heat loss it can be used in a wider variety of areas than traditional insulation, it also is not negatively affected by compression or infiltration or moisture and mold, which cause traditional insulations to lose value. Another benefit is that the coatings do not insulate by means of reflectivity (the sun reflectin off a white or light surface), rather they reduce direct heat conduction, meaning there is no "heating penalty" in the winter, as there is with white roof coating. Nansulate® is effective in all seasons.
