Coatings for Energy Efficient Buildings
Nanotechnology makes the difference
Nansulate® coatings are a patented technology by Industrial Nanotech, Inc. that utilize a nanocomposite with an extremely low thermal conductivity. This material allows the coatings to effectively inhibit heat transfer in a thin layer.
Nansulate® represents the next generation of insulation, providing alternative solutions for sustainability and environmentally friendly energy efficiency. A benefit of the coatings is the increase in resistance of the thermal envelope of a building without reducing square footage.
Thermal bridging is reduced because the coatings can be applied to surface areas where heat loss/gain is an issue due to conduction through materials. Thermal bridging occurs in building envelopes when relatively high thermal conductivity materials such as steel and concrete create pathways for heat loss. An insulation in coating form is easily applied over entire wall and ceiling surfaces, so thermal bridging is either eliminated or greatly reduced.
