Energy News:

Nansulate® is mentioned in the new report by the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

Under this study, five nanotechnological applications were subject to detailed investigation: fuel additives, photovoltaics (solar cells), the hydrogen economy, electricity storage and insulation. In these areas, nanotechnology could contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 2 % in the near term and up to 20 % by 2050 with similar reductions in air pollution being realised.

Our Nansulate® Translucent GP coating was submitted for and has received the NSF Registration for Nonfood Compounds by NSF International, The Public Health and Safety Company™.

The NSF Nonfood Compounds Registration Program is a continuation of the USDA product approval and listing program. Nansulate® was approved for NSF Registration in the R-2 category, which includes use on structural surfaces or surfaces with the possibility of incidental food contact. Nansulate® coatings contain none of the ingredients contained on the EPA listing as Class I or Class II Ozone Depleting Substances, nor do they contain any ingredients on the listing for Global Warming Potential (GWP)that are non-ozone-depleting.

Reducing Your Carbon Footprint - How Can Nansulate Help?

If you haven't yet heard the term 'carbon footprint' you most likely will very soon. Airlines already offer an add-on to tickets allowing customers the choice to offset their carbon emissions (carbon footprint), and if you do a web search on the term you will find many organizations that offer calculators and other tools for you to calculate your carbon footprint.

Carbon footprint is basically a term that refers to the amount of carbon emissions you use in your daily life. The gas used in driving your car creates x amount of carbon emissions, and the electricity that you use in your home creates x amount of carbon emissions. By insulating areas of your home - walls, ceilings, attic, water pipes, hot water heaters, basements, etc... - with Nansulate® coatings you can reduce the amount of energy you use.
