Insulate Food Manufacturing Equipment from energy loss & save money
with Nansulate® Coatings!
Clear thermal insulation, mold resistance, and corrosion prevention coating, insulates and reduces energy use in an easy to apply, environmentally friendly coating. This 21st century technology reduces energy consumption, for significant cost savings with short payback, and is NSF registered (Reg. #138638) as safe for incidental food contact surfaces, giving you peace of mind for safe insulation of food sensitive equipment

Technician at Grupo Modelo (makers of Corona beer) coats a heat exchanger with Nansulate® HIgh Heat. The surface temperature was reduced by 20 deg. C with a 3 coat (7 mil DFT) coverage, and heat loss was reduced. |

Becoming sustainable isn’t just good environmental sense, it is good business sense for any food manufacturer. Most business people think in dollars and cents, and saving every energy dollar you can, definitely makes sense no matter what size facility you have.
The major fuel sources used for food manufacturing are natural gas, electricity and coal. It is estimated that 40 percent of the value of processed food is added through energy intensive manufacturing (US EPA 2007 report). Process heating and cooling systems have the greatest energy requirements for food manufacturing and are a very necessary part of the system to maintain food safety.
Something that these processes all share in common with other types of manufacturing is the need use energy to heat and cool - through use of boilers, heat exchangers, pipes, furnaces and refrigeration units. In every heating or cooling process, there is heat loss and gain. By reducing that, manufacturers not only reduce the energy used in those processes, they can also improve the process itself and the consistency of the product.
Nansulate® thermal insulation coatings offer an easy way to insulate a variety of equipment (and buildings) to reduce heat loss/gain and reduce energy use. The coatings are also low odor which make them suitable for use in a variety of sensitive areas. They are used in a variety of industries to reduce energy consumption, and they provide an easy way to coat a variety of difficult to insulate food and beverage processing equipment, such as:
- Mixing and Processing Tanks
- Cookers
- Ovens
- Dryers
- Steam Boilers and Pipes
- Blanchers
- Heat Exchangers
