Q. Is Nansulate® Crystal rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. A: We have requested rating of Nansulate® Crystal by the CRRC (cool roof rating council). Their answer indicated that they do not rate insulating materials, therefore Nansulate® was not able to be rated by the CRRC. From their reply to our request, “The CRRC only rates the radiative properties (solar reflectance and thermal emittance) of the roof surface material. We do not rate insulative properties or insulating materials, and for the time being, the CRRC is not expecting to expand into this area.”
